Susan T. Mackey, DC, CCSP, MS, PA-C is a distinguished Physician Assistant and Doctor of Chiropractic, bringing over 30 years of expertise in neurology, rehabilitation, and sports medicine to her practice. Currently, she serves as the Administrative PA Coordinator for the NYU Concussion Center-Suffolk County, a position she has held since March 2024. In addition to this role, she is a Global Director at Winning Medical International, contributing her extensive knowledge and leadership skills since March 2022. Dr. Mackey's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Secondary Education from the State University of New York at Cortland. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, graduating Cum Laude in December 1993. Her commitment to advancing her education continued with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Stony Brook University, which she completed in June 2015. Since June 2015, Dr. Mackey was an integral part of Stony Brook University Hospital, where she works as a Physician Assistant specializing in both pediatric and adult neurology. Prior to this, she gained valuable experience at Stony Brook University Hospitals Department of Neurosurgery/New York Spine and Brain from 2015 to 2018. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she had served as a Clinical Instructor at Stony Brook University Hospital, mentoring and educating future healthcare professionals in neurology and neuroanatomy. Recognized as a leader in her field, Dr. Mackey has presented at numerous medical symposiums and grand rounds, focusing on critical topics such as concussion and traumatic brain injuries. She holds the designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (C.C.S.P.) and possesses advanced certifications in emergency neurological life- support (ENLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), among others. Dr. Mackey's dedication to community health is reflected in her volunteer efforts with the Stony Brook Health Literacy Program and her involvement in medical mission trips, including a significant mission to Nicaragua. Additionally, she has served on the board of the Nu Sigma Chi Alumnae Association, where she actively advocates for her peers and contributes to community support initiatives. Beyond her clinical and educational roles, Dr. Mackey has provided medical support for various high-profile events, including the New York City Marathon, the Gravity Games, NBC Dew Tour and the UCI BMX Super Cross World Cup held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her significant contributions to healthcare have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Service Award and the Clarence N. Flick Memorial Award. As an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the New York State Chiropractic Association (NYSCA), Dr. Mackey is committed to advancing her profession and enhancing patient care.
